A second gravida refers to a woman who is pregnant for the second time, regardless of the outcome of her previous pregnancy. If she has had a previous cesarean section (CS), her current pregnancy requires careful monitoring due to increased risks. The worst possible complications in such cases include uterine rupture, which can lead to severe bleeding, loss of the baby, or even maternal death. Additionally, attempting a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) in certain situations may result in emergency surgery, infection, or other life-threatening conditions for both mother and baby. Therefore, close medical supervision is essential to prevent these potentially tragic outcomes.

Background
Kobita Rani, a 29-year-old housewife, is 34 weeks pregnant and urgently needs a C-section as advised by her doctor to prevent a critical health crisis. Her husband, Sujon Chadrs, a 37-year-old small farmer, struggles to earn enough to support their family of four, with a monthly income of only 7,000 Taka. Despite their love and concern for Kobita’s well-being, they cannot afford the high cost of the treatment, especially since Sujon is unable to bear the expenses alone. If Kobita does not receive the necessary surgery soon, she risks severe complications that could endanger both her life and her unborn baby's. The family fears losing her and their chance for a healthy future due to their financial hardships.
Medical history
The patient, kobita Rani is 2nd gravida at 36 weeks with a previous cesarean history, was admitted to City Clinic on 2nd July 2025. A successful cesarean section was performed the same day, and she delivered a healthy baby. Both mother and child progressed well and were discharged on 6th July 2025 with proper postnatal advice. The patient and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, the dedicated volunteers, and City Clinic for their kind support and care throughout the treatment.
Prognosis
Kobita Rani, with a previous cesarean, needs a planned C-section to prevent serious complications. If not treated, she risks uterine rupture, severe bleeding, and potentially life-threatening situations for both her and her baby. Prompt surgery is essential to ensure their safety.
