Anur Muhammed is a 1 year old baby living with his parents and five siblings in the Gwange area of Borno State, Nigeria. He brings joy to the family with his bright smile and playful nature, especially when he is with his elder brother. Anur is a cherished member of the household, lighting up every moment with his warmth and innocence. Anur was a happy, playful baby until one day he became unusually quiet and tired. His tiny body felt warm with fever, and he refused to eat, growing weaker as the days passed. A harsh cough and trouble breathing made it hard for him to rest, and a pale, drained look replaced his bright smile. It was clear that the little boy was battling more than one illness, and he needed urgent care to help him recover. He presented to our facility with abdominal pains, catarrh, cough, and fever. He was evaluated and diagnosed with Malaria, Enteric fever, ARI, and Anemia

Anur Mohammed was admitted to the hospital on 13th June 2025 suffering from high fever, weakness, persistent cough, and general malaise. After careful examination and lab tests, he was diagnosed with Malaria combined with Enteric Fever, Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI), and suspected Anemia. His condition required immediate attention to prevent further health complications. Treatment began without delay. Anur was given Amatem suspension for malaria, Erythromycin syrup for his respiratory infection, and Paracetamol and Piriton syrups to control fever and discomfort. Intramuscular paracetamol injections were administered for quick relief, while Astymin syrup supported his recovery from anemia and helped restore his energy. Regular laboratory investigations, including Malaria Parasite test, PCV, blood grouping, and genotype, guided his treatment and ensured effective monitoring of his progress. Thanks to consistent medical care and proper medication, Anur gradually regained his strength. His fever subsided, cough cleared, and his overall wellbeing improved. By the end of the treatment period, he was fully recovered, strong, and ready to resume normal activities. The total cost of Anur’s medical care was ₦51,000.00, covering consultation, medication, injections, lab tests, and nursing support. This bill was completely settled by Helpster Charity, whose timely assistance ensured Anur received proper care without financial worry. In the absence of complications, the prognosis for coexisting malaria, enteric fever, acute respiratory infection, and anaemia is generally good when managed with early, targeted therapy and supportive care. Appropriate antimalarial and antibacterial treatments, combined with respiratory support and correction of anaemia, typically result in clinical improvement and recovery within a short period. However, delays in initiation of therapy or progression to severe disease may be associated with significant morbidity and necessitate intensive medical intervention. Timely medical assessment and adherence to treatment protocols are critical for achieving a favorable outcome.
