Yakubu is a lively 2-year-old boy living with his parents and five siblings in the densely populated area of Gwange. Despite the family’s humble circumstances, Yakubu is always in the company of his loving mother, who does her best to make him smile and fill their days with warmth and comfort. He is a cherished member of the family, bringing moments of joy and laughter to their modest home. One day he grew quiet and restless. At first, he refused to eat and felt too tired to play with his siblings. His tiny body grew warm with fever, and soon he began crying more often, holding his stomach and looking for comfort in his mother’s arms. As the days passed, he grew weaker, lost interest in feeding, and became dehydrated, worrying his parents. Seeing their little boy grow pale and drained, his mother knew it was time to seek help. On presentation at our facility, he was evaluated and diagnosed with Malaria, Enteric fever, ARI, Helminthiasis, and Diarrhea

Yakubu Ahmadu was diagnosed with malaria and enteric fever, acute respiratory infection (ARI), helminthiasis, and diarrhea. He was admitted and treated with Susp. Amoxicillin, Susp. Erythromycin, Syp. Paracetamol, Syp. Piriton, Susp. Albendazole, as well as injectable paracetamol and emal, alongside supportive care, and he responded well to treatment before being discharged in stable condition. After returning home, Yakubu is now fully recovered and has regained his strength. He plays freely, eats well, and has returned to his normal daily activities, which he could not do while he was sick. His family expressed deep relief and joy at his recovery, appreciating the care he received at the hospital. The family sincerely thanks Helpster Charity for paying the total medical bill of ₦46,000 and making his full recovery possible.

With early diagnosis and proper treatment, the prognosis for a child like Yakubu is generally good. Most children recover fully when given the right medications, hydration, and supportive care. However, if left untreated, these illnesses can lead to serious complications, especially in young and malnourished children. Timely medical attention and a clean, safe environment make all the difference for a strong and complete recovery.
