Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About eyes
Cataract is a clouding of the lens inside the eye, which causes blurry vision and can make it difficult to see clearly. If not treated, cataracts can lead to complete blindness, making it impossible for a person to see anything. This can severely affect daily life, independence, and quality of life, and in some cases, blindness may become permanent if not treated in time. Developmental cataract is a serious eye condition that causes the clouding of the eye lens, often resulting in blurred or blocked vision.

Background
Ashraf Hossain is a bright and cheerful 8-year-old boy from a small rural village, full of dreams of becoming a doctor someday. Despite his curiosity and love for playing cricket, his worsening cataract in his right eye is blurring his vision, threatening to end his childhood innocence and learning. His family struggles to make ends meet, with his father working as a day laborer earning only 5,000 BDT a month and his mother working in a garment factory earning 8,000 BDT, leaving no extra money for expensive medical treatments. Without urgent surgery costing around 40,500 BDT, Ashraf risks losing his sight forever, which could shatter his hopes of education and a better future. If he doesn't receive the treatment soon, he may become blind and be unable to pursue his dreams or enjoy the simple joys of childhood.
Medical history
Ashraf Hossain, an 8-year-old boy, needed cataract surgery to restore his vision in the right eye, which had been severely affected. He underwent the procedure with the implantation of an intraocular lens under general anesthesia, performed by Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Sk, Chief Consultant of the Hospital. The surgery went successfully, and his visual acuity has now improved significantly. Ashraf can now see clearly, allowing him to enjoy a brighter future. Special thanks to Helpster Charity and the Helpster Heroes for their kind support in helping him regain his vision.
Prognosis
Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Chief Consultant at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, Chandpur, has carefully assessed Ashraf’s case. He has recommended that Ashraf undergo immediate cataract surgery under general anesthesia, followed by the implantation of an intraocular lens in the right eye. Dr. Anwar is optimistic that with this surgery, Ashraf’s vision can be substantially restored, enabling him to resume his studies and lead a normal, active life. He emphasized that if the surgery is delayed or not performed, Ashraf may suffer permanent vision loss in his right eye, severely limiting his educational opportunities and overall development. The doctor believes that early intervention is crucial to changing Ashraf’s future. Therefore, we humbly request Helpster Charity to support Ashraf’s surgery, so he can return to the classroom, enjoy his childhood, and move one step closer to fulfilling his dream of becoming a doctor.
