Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About eyes

Cataract is a clouding of the lens inside the eye, which causes blurry vision and can make it difficult to see clearly. If not treated, cataracts can lead to complete blindness, making it impossible for a person to see anything. This can severely affect daily life, independence, and quality of life, and in some cases, blindness may become permanent if not treated in time. Traumatic cataract is a serious condition that occurs following injury to the eye, leading to clouding of the eye lens and gradual loss of vision. We kindly appeal to Helpster Charity to support Murad’s urgent treatment, so he may regain his sight, continue providing for his family, and live a life filled with purpose and dignity.

Thank you for saving this life!

Background

Murad Hossain is a brave 15-year-old boy from a small village who dreams of seeing the world beyond his home. Despite his courage and hardworking nature, his family struggles to afford the BDT 40,500 needed for his urgent cataract surgery, as they survive on a meager monthly income of only BDT 8,000. While he was working near the riverland area last year, Murad suffered a tragic accident that caused a severe injury to his left eye, leading to permanent vision loss. Now, he is losing sight in his right eye as well, making daily tasks impossible and threatening his future. Without this life-changing surgery, Murad risks remaining blind forever, unable to work or pursue his dreams, trapping him in a cycle of hardship. His story is one of hope and resilience, but he desperately needs help to regain his sight and a chance at a better life.

Medical history

Murad Hossain, a 15-year-old boy, required cataract surgery in his Right eye because the traumatic cataract was severely affecting his ability to see clearly and perform daily activities. The surgery was successfully carried out under General anesthesia by Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Sk, Chief Consultant of the Hospital, ensuring a safe and carefully monitored procedure. Throughout the treatment process, Murad cooperated well, and the medical team closely tracked his progress to ensure smooth healing. After the surgery, he experienced significant improvement in comfort and visual clarity. His visual acuity continues to get better with each follow-up visit, allowing him to see more confidently and participate fully in his studies and daily life. The successful outcome has brought great relief and happiness to his family. Thanks to Helpster Charity and Helpster Heroes, he received the essential treatment needed to restore his vision. Their support played a crucial role in helping him regain sight in the operated eye.

Prognosis

Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Chief Consultant at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, Chandpur, has evaluated Murad’s condition and strongly recommends urgent cataract surgery. The doctor has advised that surgery under general anesthesia with the implantation of an intraocular lens in the right eye is essential to restore Murad’s vision. Dr. Anwar believes that the surgery will greatly improve Murad’s quality of life, allowing him to return to work and live independently. He also warned that if the surgery is not performed soon, Murad risks permanent blindness in both eyes, which would have devastating consequences for him and his family. With the surgery, Murad can once again see the world clearly and work toward his dreams.
