Background
Abubakar is a 1-year-old son of a peasant farmer who is introverted. Who was living in njimtilo area, He likes playing and mingling with friends. In the future he aspires to become a business tycoon so that he can take his family out of poverty. About one month ago, he developed intense itching, small bumps and redness of the skin possibly linked to poor hygiene via use of stagnant water for birth. He has been examined and diagnosed of Nodular Scabies(skin infection).
Medical history
The patient was admitted with symptoms of intense itching, rashes, and sores around his joints. Following examination and investigation, he was diagnosed with scabies. Treatment commenced on June 16, 2025, and he was discharged on June 17, 2025. His condition showed significant improvement, with wounds healing, rashes fading, and itching subsiding. The patient's parents received education on maintaining good personal and environmental hygiene, as well as the importance of proper nutrition for recovery.
Prognosis
Early intervention is key to managing symptoms and reducing transmission risk, especially in close-contact environments like schools or households.
