Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Usama is a 19-years-old child who is also an internally displaced person. He is joyful who likes soccer and also dreams to become military personnel in the future so that he can safeguard the lives and properties of the good citizens of Nigeria and beyond. About 5 months ago he started experiencing right loin pain, Lower back pain and dysuria. He was presented to different health facilities and was diagnosed of right kidney stone, but the facility couldn't proceed with the surgery due to lack of money to settle the bills. However, upon hearing about Helpster when the volunteer visited their slum, they brought the child to our health facility to access the free surgery. On presentation at our hospital, he was evaluated and diagnosed with Kidney Stone and requires urgent treatment.
Medical history
Usama Bukar, a 19-year-old male, was referred to our facility with a right kidney stone. After thorough evaluation and investigation, he underwent elective right nephrolithotomy. The surgery was successful without immediate complications. Due to the nature of his condition, he was admitted for 5 days for close monitoring and treatment. The patient recovered well and was discharged home after 5 days, with follow-up care scheduled for 1 week. Currently, the patient is doing well, has recovered, and has resumed regular activities at home.
Prognosis
Larger stones might require more extensive treatment like using sound waves to break up the stone (lithotripsy), surgery to remove very large stones, or using a scope passed through the bladder to remove smaller stones.
