When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Pregnancy-Induced Hypertension (PIH) is high blood pressure that develops after 20 weeks of pregnancy, posing risks to both mother and baby, including preeclampsia or preterm delivery. Malaria is a mosquito-borne parasitic infection causing recurring fever, chills, and body weakness, which can become life-threatening if not treated promptly. Enteric Fever, commonly known as typhoid, is a bacterial infection (usually Salmonella typhi) spread through contaminated food or water, leading to prolonged fever, abdominal pain, and weakness.

Background
As Saratu continues to do a lot of things to put food on their table, she does petty trading and sells small items. Life has been manageable for Saratu and her 2 kids. She is a very proud mother, people around her admire her positive spirit. As soon as Saratu started feeling dizzy, she was advised to visit the hospital but there was not enough money to visit the hospital. She only had paracetamol to take. She heard about Helpster and sought to seek for help. On presentation at our hospital, she complained of fever, headache, body aches, and bitterness of the mouth and after investigations she was diagnosed with Pregnancy induced hypertension, malaria and enteric fever.
Medical history
When Saratu came to Albishir Clinic and Maternity, she was received with warmth, the medical personnels on duty were very concerned and immediately attended to her. The presenting complain she laid before the doctor was headache, epigastric pain, weakness, bitterness of taste and fever. The lab tests was carried out, malaria was positive as well as enteric fever. She was further diagnosed with pregnancy induced hypertension. Drugs were prescribed and administered accordingly. In furtherance with the treatment, she was asked to take constant rest in oder not to stress the foetus in her. She was being properly observed by the doctor to make sure her health was stabilized. She is very grateful to Helpster Charity for their kind gesture towards her health being restored. She was discharged and given some take home orals and given sometimes to come back for follow up.
Prognosis
Doctors emphasize that PIH requires close monitoring, as it can progress to preeclampsia or eclampsia, but with early detection and proper care, most mothers deliver safely. Malaria, if diagnosed early, responds well to antimalarial treatment, but delayed care can result in severe complications like cerebral malaria or death. Enteric Fever has a good prognosis with timely antibiotic therapy, though delayed treatment can lead to intestinal perforation or prolonged weakness.
