Background
Isme Akter Sikha's family struggles to survive on her husband's unstable income of just 9,000 BDT per month as a bus driver. This meager amount must support six family members, including elderly parents and a young school-going child. The family lives hand-to-mouth with no savings to cover emergency medical expenses. Isme urgently needs a C-section due to oligohydramnios (dangerously low amniotic fluid) and her previous cesarean delivery, which together make vaginal delivery extremely risky. Without the surgery, she faces potential uterine rupture, fetal distress, or stillbirth, putting both her life and her baby's at grave risk. Tragically, their crushing poverty leaves them unable to afford this life-saving procedure.
Medical history
The patient,Isme Akter is a 1dst gravida at 36 weeks, was admitted to City Clinic on 29th July 2025. A successful cesarean section was performed the same day, and she delivered a healthy baby. Both mother and child progressed well and were discharged on 3rd August 2025 with proper postnatal advice. The patient and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, the dedicated volunteers, and City Clinic for their kind support and care throughout the treatment.
Prognosis
Given Isme's 34+ weeks pregnancy with oligohydramnios and multiple comorbidities, an urgent C-section is medically indicated to mitigate risks of fetal distress, stillbirth, or maternal complications. Delaying intervention could lead to life-threatening consequences for both mother and baby due to her fragile health.
