Background
Mst. Shahinur Khatun, a 26-year-old housewife, is 39 weeks pregnant with her second child, and her pregnancy has been complicated by post-term status and oligohydramnios. Her family, led by her husband Ruhul Amin, a rickshaw puller earning only 10,000 Taka per month, struggles to meet their basic needs and cannot afford the cost of an urgent C-section. Without prompt surgical intervention, she faces serious risks such as stillbirth, fetal distress, or placental problems that could endanger both her life and her baby's. Their ongoing hardship makes it impossible for them to access the necessary treatment, putting their family’s future at grave risk.
Medical history
Shahinur Khatun was admitted to the hospital on June 25, 2025, with a diagnosis of Oligohydramnois. On the same day, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby. Both mother and newborn were discharged on June 29, 2025, in good health. Her husband came to the hospital to receive her and their child.
