Background
Almina Khatun, a 31-year-old housewife and mother of two girls and a young son, is 34 weeks pregnant with her fourth child. Her family, led by her husband Maidul Islam, a small farmer earning only 8,000 Taka per month, struggles to meet their basic needs and cannot afford the cost of an urgent C-section. With a previous C-section and the risk of uterine rupture, she urgently needs surgical delivery to ensure her safety and that of her baby. If not performed promptly, she faces life-threatening complications such as uterine rupture, severe bleeding, or even maternal and fetal death. Their financial hardship makes it impossible for them to access the necessary treatment, putting their family’s future at grave risk.
Medical history
Shahinur Khatun was admitted to the hospital on August 07, 2025, with a diagnosis of Vertical Incision with 4th gravida. On the same day, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby. Both mother and newborn were discharged on August 11, 2025, in good health.
