Background
Rubi Parvin, a 26-year-old housewife and mother of a 4-year-old son, is 35 weeks pregnant and urgently needs a C-section due to severe oligohydramnios and her previous vertical C-section. Her family, led by her husband Mominul Islam, a day laborer earning only 6,000 Taka per month, struggles to meet their basic needs and cannot afford the cost of the surgery. Without immediate delivery, she and her baby face life-threatening risks such as fetal distress, stillbirth, or uterine rupture, which could be fatal for both. Their financial hardship makes it impossible for them to access the necessary treatment, putting their family’s future in grave danger.
Medical history
Rubi Parvin was admitted to the hospital on July 13, 2025, with a diagnosis of Oligohydramnois and previous C- section. On the same day, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby. Both mother and newborn were discharged on July 16, 2025, in good health.
