Breech presentation is a condition where the baby is positioned in the uterus with its pelvis or feet facing downward instead of the head, which is the normal position for delivery. If not treated or managed properly, it can lead to complications such as birth trauma, cord prolapse, asphyxia, or even stillbirth during delivery.

Background
Shusmita Akter, a 20-year-old housewife, and her husband, Jahid Hasan, a shop assistant, faced a daunting reality. With a combined monthly income of just 8000 taka, supporting their seven-member household—including their young daughter, a physically disabled sister-in-law, a student brother-in-law, and elderly parents—was a daily struggle. Her first delivery was a C-section, and now, at 36 weeks pregnant with a breech baby, another C-section is medically necessary. Without the surgery, Shusmita risks a complicated delivery, endangering both her and her baby's life and shattering her family's dream of a brighter future. They learned about the Helpster charity from a nurse, offering a glimmer of hope.
Medical history
Shusmita Akter was admitted to the hospital on August 14, 2025, with a diagnosis of Breech Presentation. On the same day, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby. Both mother and newborn were discharged on August 17, 2025, in good health. Her husband came to the hospital to receive her and their child. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic, Bablu Abdullah, and Amulla for their treatment and support. Prognosis
Breech presentation, where the baby's bottom or feet are positioned to deliver first instead of the head, is associated with several risk factors, including prematurity, multiple gestations, uterine abnormalities (like fibroids or abnormal shape), placenta previa, and fetal malformations or conditions. That's why it is very urgent to conduct C- Section.
