Suraiya, a bright 14-year-old with a dream of becoming a doctor, has been suffering from chronic tonsillitis for six years, with painful symptoms like a severe sore throat and difficulty breathing. Her father, the sole earner, works as a charger van driver and his meager monthly income of 7,000 taka is just enough to cover basic needs, making the required surgery financially impossible. The family, burdened by debt, has watched helplessly as Suraiya’s condition worsened, knowing that without the operation, she could face life-threatening complications like an abscess or rheumatic fever. We hope to return to a completely normal life in 7-10 days. She will be able to eat normal food.
