Hadiza is an active woman, always focused on taking care of children and the family. She wants her children to be productive members of society. She is very compassionate and seen as a role of such. Hadiza who’s now 10 weeks pregnant presented with 3-days history of lower abdominal pain, per vaginal bleeding and passage of some fleshy materials per vaginum. Sadly, on presentation at our hospital for help, the pregnancy was no longer viable, and she was diagnosed with Incomplete Miscarriage and in need of urgent surgical evacuation to avoid sepsis and death.

Hadiza who was 10 weeks pregnant presented to our facility with complaints of lower abdominal pain, per vaginal bleeding and passage of some fleshy materials per vaginum. After proper evaluation, she was sadly diagnosed with incomplete miscarriage. She had adequate resuscitation, proper evacuation of the uterus of the retained products and other medical managements She was also transfused with blood. As the treatment progressed, se responded well as evidenced by resolving of her admitting symptoms. She was then discharged home with oral medications following the improvement of her condition.

Hadiza suffered from her pregnancy that became terminated and had incomplete miscarriage. With proper and adequate evacuation of the uterus coupled with antibiotics, Analgesics, supplementary medications and blood transfusion when necessary, patient has good chance of recovery and future pregnancies. But when left unattended to, patient can develop post abortal sepsis which can be fatal in some cases and can lead to death.
