Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About diagnostics

Tonsillitis is an inflammation of the tonsils, which are two oval-shaped pads of tissue located at the back of the throat. If not treated properly, especially in cases of recurrent or severe infection, it can lead to complications such as abscess formation (peritonsillar abscess), difficulty breathing or swallowing, and the spread of infection to other parts of the body. In extreme cases, untreated tonsillitis can result in serious conditions like rheumatic fever or kidney inflammation, which can cause long-term health problems.

Background

Md. Milon, a 20-year-old with dreams of a better life, had to give up his education to work as a day laborer, earning just enough to support his five-member family in their small home. For a year, he has endured four severe episodes of acute tonsillitis, which led to a state of chronic tonsillitis. Each episode lasted up to seven days, preventing him from working and creating an unbearable financial strain for his impoverished family. After spending over 8,000 BDT on temporary relief, he was diagnosed and advised that surgical intervention was his only option. Without this critical surgery, his health will continue to decline, trapping him in a cycle of illness and poverty and crushing his dreams for a stable future for himself and his family. He has now turned to Helpster as a final hope to break free from this suffering.

Medical history

Md Milon was admitted to the hospital on July 11, 2025, with Chronic Tonsillitis. On the same day, doctor conducted Tonsillectomy. After two days, he was discharged on July 13, 2025, in good health. Her father and mother came to the hospital to receive her. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster, Mother Clinic and, Bablu Abdullah for their treatment and support. Her father was especially thankful for the financial assistance provided by Helpster.

Prognosis

Based on the patient's history of recurrent episodes of severe throat pain, high fever, and dysphagia, a diagnosis of chronic tonsillitis is confirmed. The medical opinion is that a tonsillectomy is essential to prevent further, debilitating infections and to improve his overall quality of life. Without this surgery, the prognosis is poor, with a high likelihood of continued illness, leading to potential complications such as peritonsillar abscess and significant disruption to his work and well-being. Surgical intervention offers a definitive cure and is the only way to ensure a complete and lasting recovery.
