If not treated promptly, it can lead to a ruptured appendix, resulting in peritonitis, a life-threatening infection of the abdominal cavity. Peritonitis is an inflammation of the peritoneum, the lining of the abdominal cavity, usually caused by infection from a ruptured organ. If not treated promptly, it can lead to severe sepsis, organ failure, and can be fatal.

Background
Akhi Tara, a 17-year-old student, comes from a poor family where her father, a day laborer, earns only 8,000 Taka a month to support four members. She has been suffering from severe abdominal pain for the past day, which was diagnosed as appendicitis—a dangerous condition that can lead to rupture and peritonitis if not treated immediately. Unfortunately, her family cannot afford the costly surgery needed to save her life. If she does not receive prompt treatment, her appendix could burst, causing life-threatening complications and risking her life and future. Thanks to Helpster Charity and Mamun’s support, there is hope that she can get the urgent care she needs to recover and continue her studies.
Medical history
Akhi Tara was admitted to the hospital on July 01, 2025, with right sided abdominal pain. After diagnoses, she was found with appendicitis problem. On the same day, doctor conducted Appendicectomy. After seven days, she was discharged on July 07, 2025, in good health. Her father and mother came to the hospital to receive her. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic, Bablu Abdullah, and Amulla for their treatment and support. Her father was especially thankful for the financial assistance provided by Helpster.
Prognosis
Akhi Tara presents with classic symptoms of acute appendicitis, including severe abdominal pain lasting for two days. Immediate surgical intervention with an appendectomy is essential to prevent potential complications such as perforation and peritonitis. Without prompt treatment, there is a significant risk of the infection spreading, leading to sepsis and potentially life-threatening outcomes. Early diagnosis and surgical management are crucial for her full recovery and to avoid serious health risks.
