Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About gynecology

Fetal Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR) is a condition where a fetus is smaller than expected for its gestational age due to inadequate growth within the uterus. If not properly managed, IUGR can lead to serious complications such as fetal hypoxia, birth asphyxia, meconium aspiration, or stillbirth, posing significant risks to the baby's health and survival. Breech presentation is a condition where the baby is positioned in the uterus with its pelvis or feet facing downward instead of the head, which is the normal position for delivery. If not treated or managed properly, it can lead to complications such as birth trauma, cord prolapse, asphyxia, or even stillbirth during delivery. Koli Begum is 31 weeks of pregnancy with the Breech presentation and Fetal IUGR. . Background

Koli Begum, a 41-year-old housewife, and her family live a life of hardship as her husband is a poor farmer struggling to make ends meet with a monthly income of only 8,000 Taka. She is currently 31 weeks pregnant with her second child, and her baby is in breech presentation with fetal IUGR, which puts both mother and baby at serious risk. Due to their financial situation, they cannot afford the cost of a necessary cesarean section. If she does not receive this treatment promptly, there is a high risk of complications such as birth trauma, cord prolapse, or even stillbirth, which could be devastating for the family. Thanks to Helpster Charity and the support from Shofiqul, they are hopeful that her life and her baby's future can be saved.

Medical history

Koli Begum was admitted to the hospital on September 01, 2025, with a diagnosis of Breech Presentation. On the same day, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby. Both mother and newborn were discharged on September 04, 2025, in good health. Her husband came to the hospital to receive her and their child. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic, Bablu Abdullah, and Amulla for their treatment and support. Her husband was especially thankful for the financial assistance provided by Helpster.

Prognosis

The patient, in her third pregnancy at 31 weeks gestation, presents with breech presentation and IUGR, necessitating a cesarean section due to her previous C-section. If the cesarean is not performed, both the mother and the fetus are at high risk of complications such as fetal hypoxia, birth trauma, or stillbirth. Therefore, timely surgical intervention is essential to ensure the safety of both.
