Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Siaya County Referral Hospital
Along siaya- Rangala road
Background
The child was referred from Sigomere Sub County Hospital after being found abandoned in a maize plantation. She had been wrapped in a cloth alongside her clinic book, but unfortunately, the page containing her mother’s details had been tampered with. Instead of being taken directly to the children’s department, she was brought to the hospital because she was running a fever. The case was reported to Sigomere Police Station, and an Occurrence Book (OB) number was issued. It was also brought to the attention of the Ugunja Sub County Children’s Officer, and efforts to trace the child’s mother are currently underway. Upon medical evaluation, the infant was diagnosed with neonatal sepsis. She received treatment and was discharged in stable condition, weighing 3.28 kilograms. A temporary placement for the child was arranged at Rang'ala Baby Home.

She had been abandoned and she came presenting with a distended stomach that was tender to touch and was crying a lot due to starvation. Her condition warranted admission in the nursery as she was only 3 weeks old. She was administered antibiotics and fluids for her dehydration and bacterial infection. She responded well to treatment and was taken to a children's home. A call to the home in charge revealed that Beryl had gotten used to the staff and took a particular liking to one of the mission sisters, she also reported that she was feeding well on formular (NAN)
