Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About eyes
Cataract is a clouding of the lens inside the eye, which causes blurry vision and can make it difficult to see clearly. If not treated, cataracts can lead to complete blindness, making it impossible for a person to see anything. This can severely affect daily life, independence, and quality of life, and in some cases, blindness may become permanent if not treated in time.
Thank you for saving this life!

Background
Sakil is a cheerful 9-year-old boy who dreams of returning to school and playing with his friends, but his worsening vision from congenital cataract has taken that away. His mother, Rahima Begum, struggles to make ends meet on their limited monthly income of just BDT 5,000, with no land or savings to cover the costly surgery he needs. Without urgent treatment, Sakil risks losing all sight in his affected eye forever, severely impacting his childhood and future prospects. His family, including his three older siblings, deeply fears that if he doesn’t receive help soon, his dreams of education and a brighter tomorrow may be lost forever.
Medical history
Md Sakil, a 9-year-old boy, was suffering from a cataract in his Right eye, which caused blurred vision and difficulty in daily activities. To restore his sight, he underwent successful cataract surgery with the implantation of an intraocular lens under general anesthesia, performed by Dr. Md. Rashedur Rahman Talukder, Senior Consultant of the Hospital. The surgery was completed smoothly, and his recovery progressed well. Sakil’s visual acuity has significantly improved, and he can now see clearly again. Heartfelt thanks to Helpster Charity and the Helpster Heroes for their generous support in helping him regain his vision.
Prognosis
According to Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Chief Consultant, and Dr. Rashedur Rahman Talukder, Senior Consultant at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, Chandpur, Sakil urgently needs Cataract Surgery under General Anesthesia with intraocular lens implantation in his right eye. The doctors have stated that with timely surgery, Sakil has a strong chance of regaining vision and living a normal life. However, if the condition is left untreated, the cataract may cause irreversible damage to the eye and result in permanent vision loss.
