Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Hosea is a four-year-old boy living with his parents in a rural village. The family resides in a small, two-room mud house with rusted, leaky iron sheets. They rely on water from a nearby stream for drinking and cooking, and use firewood collected from the local forest for both cooking and lighting. Hosea’s father works as a boda boda rider, earning no more than 250 shillings a day, which is barely enough to meet the family’s basic needs. Over the past four days, Hosea developed a fever, vomiting, coughing, and difficulty in breathing. During this time, he was being treated with over-the-counter medication, but his condition worsened. He was eventually taken to a health facility, where investigations revealed that he was suffering from severe pneumonia. Hosea was admitted to the ward for treatment and further medical care.
Medical history
Hosea was diagnosed with severe pneumonia, which had caused significant difficulty in breathing and persistent coughing. Due to the severity of his condition, he was admitted to the hospital for comprehensive treatment and close monitoring. He received appropriate medical management and gradually began to improve. By the time of discharge, Hosea was stable and showing good recovery progress.
Prognosis
Severe pneumonia is a life threatening condition and if could have been delayed on treatment and management could have let to death or other serious complications.
