Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About infections

Nafiyan Nusayeb has been diagnosed with adenotonsillitis, a condition characterized by inflammation and recurrent infection of the tonsils and adenoids. This causes him frequent sore throats, high fevers, difficulty swallowing, and general discomfort, which disrupt his daily activities and school attendance. Despite repeated courses of antibiotics and steroids, his symptoms persist and are becoming more severe. Without surgical intervention, the condition may lead to chronic infections, growth issues, and further complications affecting his overall health and quality of life.

Background

Nafiyan Nusayeb, an intelligent and active little boy in Nursery class, lives with his parents and grandparents in a small tin-made house, where his father earns only BDT 8,000 per month as a laborer. For the past two years, he has been suffering from recurrent sore throats, high fever, and difficulty swallowing, which have worsened over time despite repeated courses of antibiotics and steroids. His family cannot afford the recommended adenotonsillectomy, leaving Nafiyan in constant pain that affects his ability to eat, play, and attend school. If left untreated, his chronic adenotonsillitis could lead to severe infections, growth issues, and long-term health complications. The loving support of his family has kept his spirits high, but only timely surgery can give Nafiyan a chance at a healthy, normal childhood.

Medical history

Nafyan Nusayeb 05 years old boy came with the complaints of sore throat for 6 days, difficulty in deglutition for same duration, history of fever for 09 days ago and H/O tonsillitis several times in previous year , and admitted in this hospital on 30 August 2025 , then after proper examination and investigation she was diagnosed as chronic adenotonsillitis and was planned to treat surgically, after proper preanaesthetic check up her Adenotonsilectomy was done successfully on 30 August 2025 at night. Then she was kept in postoperative care and was shifted to her cabin bed . On 3 rd POD on 02 September 2025 she was discharged with appropriate medication and advice.

Prognosis

The doctor recommends adenotonsillectomy under general anesthesia as a definitive treatment for Nafiyan’s chronic adenotonsillitis. This surgery will remove the inflamed tonsils and adenoids, significantly reducing the frequency of infections, fevers, and difficulty swallowing. Post-surgery, Nafiyan is expected to experience improved appetite, better sleep, enhanced energy, and uninterrupted school attendance, allowing him to grow and develop normally. If left untreated, his condition could lead to recurrent severe infections, growth and developmental delays, and long-term health complications, making daily life increasingly difficult for him and his family. Timely surgery is therefore crucial for restoring his health and quality of life.
