Background
Kajoli Khatun is a bright 12-year-old girl studying at a Madasha, but for the past five months, she has been suffering from severe throat pain, fever, and difficulty swallowing due to tonsillitis. Her father, Kobez Uddin, is a day laborer earning only BDT 5,000 a month, and her family struggles to meet their basic needs with no savings for medical expenses. Despite her suffering, they cannot afford the surgery that her doctor has advised to remove her inflamed tonsils. If Kajoli doesn't receive urgent treatment, her condition could worsen, leading to serious infections or difficulty breathing, which could threaten her life and prevent her from continuing her studies and childhood.
Medical history
Kajoli Khatun was admitted to Jumuna Clinic on July 28, 2025, with a diagnosis of tonsillitis. On the same day, a tonsillectomy was successfully performed. Her post-operative recovery was smooth and uneventful. After two days of observation and care, she was discharged in good health on July 31, 2025. Her parents came to the hospital to receive her at the time of discharge. The family expressed sincere gratitude to Helpster, Jumuna Clinic, and Bablu Abdullah for their dedicated treatment and support. Kajoli’s father extended special thanks to Helpster for the financial assistance that helped make her treatment possible.
Prognosis
Kajoli has chronic tonsillitis, which has caused ongoing inflammation and infection of her tonsils for the past five months. A tonsillectomy is necessary to remove the infected tissue, alleviate her symptoms, and prevent potential complications such as recurrent infections or breathing difficulties. Without surgical intervention, her condition may worsen and lead to more serious health problems.
