Breech presentation is a condition during pregnancy where the fetus is positioned with the lower extremities or sacral region closest to the birth canal instead of the normal cephalic (head-first) position. This malpresentation increases the risk of complications during delivery, such as umbilical cord prolapse, birth trauma, fetal hypoxia, and obstructed labor. If not properly managed, breech presentation can result in significant neonatal morbidity or mortality and serious maternal complications including uterine rupture and hemorrhage.

Background
Mst. Asa Muni, an 18-year-old with a gentle spirit, is filled with both joy and fear as she nears the end of her first pregnancy. Her husband, a hardworking day laborer, desperately tries to earn enough to support their growing family, but his meager wages are barely enough to cover their daily needs. Doctors have advised an urgent C-section because their baby is in a breech position, but the cost is far beyond their means. The thought of a natural birth fills Asa with dread, knowing that it could lead to complications that would endanger both her and her baby's lives, a risk her family is not willing to take. Their hope for a healthy future for their child is now overshadowed by the heavy weight of their financial situation.
Medical history
The patient, Asa Muni 2nd gravida at with a previous cesarean history in breech position , was admitted to City Clinic on 24th September 2025. A successful cesarean section was performed the same day, and she delivered a healthy baby. Both mother and child progressed well and were discharged on 28th September 2025 with proper postnatal advice. The patient and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, the dedicated volunteers, and City Clinic for their kind support and care throughout the treatment.
Prognosis
Asa muni is 32+ weeks of a single viable pregnancy with a history of bad obstetric outcomes, presents with a breech-positioned fetus and complaints of intermittent abdominal pain and discomfort. The obstetrician strongly recommends a cesarean section to prevent complications such as umbilical cord prolapse, fetal distress, or obstructed labor. Without timely surgical intervention, she faces a high risk of severe maternal hemorrhage, uterine rupture, and potentially fatal outcomes for both mother and baby.
