Patience E., 14

Patient Emmanuel is 14years old, she attend Government School Ungwan and she is in Jss1. She lives with her grandmother from her mother's side. Her mother is late and her father lives in another city. She likes to read novels, and her future ambition is to become nurse in future. She is an intelligent girl; she assists her grandmother with chores and takes care of her younger brother who they live together with their grandmother. She was apparently well until she developed headaches, fever, loss of appetite, severe abdomen pains. The symptoms persisted for over 6 days, with associated weakness, altered consciousness. She was rushed to our hospital's Accident and Emergency unit in the evening. On presentation, she was febrile with altered sensorium and GCS of 11/15. She was evaluated and diagnosed with Complicated Malaria with Severe Anemia and altered consciousness. Patience was admitted for emergency treatment.

Emmanuel Patience was admitted with symptoms of body weakness, altered sensorium, and febrile illness. She was diagnosed with complicated malaria, severe anemia, and altered consciousness. During her stay, she received two units of blood, hematinics, and various medications, including intravenous fluids. Emmanuel Patience has made a significant recovery and is currently doing well. Based on the patient's condition the doctor's opinion is that the patient will show good improvement with management for Complicated malaria with severe anaemia and altered consciousness.
