The child is generally playful and in good health. She attends school regularly and has a strong liking for her teacher. After school, she enjoys playing with her friends and often helps her mother care for their chickens. She dreams of becoming a doctor when she grows up. Recently, she began experiencing a gradual onset of symptoms including painful swallowing, dizziness, snoring, vomiting, and a runny nose. Her mother initially tried managing the illness at home with over-the-counter medications, but there was no improvement. With the delay in seeking proper medical care, the child’s condition worsened. She is currently weak, appears pale, and is unable to swallow due to swollen and painful tonsils.

Favour Julia was diagnosed with acute tonsillitis and anaemia. She was admitted to the hospital for three days, where she received treatment with antibiotics, pain relievers, haematinics, and deworming medication. She has since recovered well and is now active, often helping her mother take care of their family’s chickens. Her mother expressed her gratitude, saying she is very thankful to Helpster Charity for the support

Prognosis is good since both the anaemia and tonsillitis we managed promptly . If the tonsillitis is caused by group A Streptococcus (strep throat) and left untreated, tonsillitis can lead to rheumatic fever, which may damage the heart valves causing poor blood supply to the rest of the body and eventually death
