It typically causes severe abdominal pain and requires emergency surgery to remove the inflamed appendix. If left untreated, the appendix can rupture (burst), leading to a serious and potentially life-threatening infection called peritonitis, which can cause sepsis, organ damage, and even death.

Background
Asiya Khatun, an 11-year-old student in class four, has been suffering from severe abdominal pain for the past ten days, making it difficult for her to focus on her studies. Her family, including her father Asker Ali, a day laborer earning just 7,000 monthly, her mother Bulbuli Begum, grandmother Houshi Begum, and older brother Asad Ali, all live modestly and cannot afford the urgent surgery she needs for appendicitis. Without immediate treatment, Asiya’s inflamed appendix could rupture, leading to a life-threatening infection that might cause organ failure or even death. Despite her strong will to recover quickly and return to school, the family’s limited income and lack of savings make it impossible for them to cover the medical expenses. Nurse Kulsum from Mother Clinic has informed them about possible support, but time is running out for Asiya’s safe recovery.
Medical history
Asiya Khatun was admitted to the hospital on July 11, 2025, with right sided abdominal pain. After diagnoses, she was found with appendicitis problem. On the same day, doctor conducted Appendicectomy. After seven days, she was discharged on July 14, 2025, in good health. Her father and mother came to the hospital to receive her. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster, Mother Clinic and, Bablu Abdullah for their treatment and support. Prognosis
The patient’s presentation with severe abdominal pain consistent with acute appendicitis necessitates prompt surgical intervention to prevent complications. Immediate appendectomy is essential to avoid rupture, which can lead to peritonitis, sepsis, and potentially fatal outcomes. Early treatment will significantly improve prognosis and facilitate a full recovery.
