Breech presentation is a condition during pregnancy where the fetus is positioned with its feet or bottom first, instead of the normal head-first position. This increases the risk of complications during delivery, such as umbilical cord prolapse, birth trauma, and obstructed labor. If not managed properly, breech presentation can lead to severe health issues or death for the newborn and serious complications for the mother, including uterine rupture and hemorrhage.

Background
Shondha Rani, a 25-year-old housewife with a gentle demeanor, carries the weight of a difficult past pregnancy as she prepares for her second child. With her baby in a breech position and a history of obstetric complications, the doctor has advised a C-section to avoid a life-threatening situation for both mother and child. However, the family's financial situation is dire; her husband, Saonia Roy, earns a meager 5,000 BDT a month, which is barely enough to feed their family of five, including their son, Hridoy, and Saonia's elderly parents. The memory of a difficult first C-section at a government hospital looms large, adding to Shondha's fear and making her and her family desperately seek a safer, but more expensive, private hospital option that is out of their reach. Without the necessary support, Shondha's dream of a safe delivery is in jeopardy, leaving her family to face the horrifying possibility of losing both her and the baby.
Medical history
The patient, Sondha Rani was admitted to City Clinic on 16th September 2025. A successful cesarean section was performed the same day, and she delivered a healthy 3 kg male baby. Both mother and child progressed well and were discharged on 20th September 2025 with proper postnatal advice. The patient and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, the dedicated volunteers, and City Clinic for their kind support and care throughout the treatment
Prognosis
Shondha Rani is 29+ weeks of 2nd pregnancy with a history of bad obstetric outcomes, presents with a breech-positioned fetus and complaints of intermittent abdominal pain and discomfort. The obstetrician strongly recommends a cesarean section to prevent complications such as umbilical cord prolapse, fetal distress, or obstructed labor. Without timely surgical intervention, she faces a high risk of severe maternal hemorrhage, uterine rupture, and potentially fatal outcomes for both mother and baby.
