Abubakar Mohammed Isa is a resilient and determined 19 year old with a calm and respectful demeanor. Despite his current health challenges, he remains hopeful about his future. Abubakar enjoys repairing motorcycles and dreams of becoming a skilled mechanical engineer. He loves learning how things work and often spends time helping out at a local mechanic’s shop. His passion for machines and dedication to self improvement reflect his strong character and ambition to one day open his own workshop to support his family and contribute to his community. Abubakar Mohammed Isa sustained a right femoral shaft fracture following a motorcycle accident about a week before his hospital admission. Initially, he sought help from a traditional bone setter, but his condition did not improve instead, he experienced increasing pain, swelling, and difficulty walking. He was eventually brought to General Hospital Nguru, where X rays confirmed a transverse mid shaft fracture of his right femur. Currently, Abubakar is in moderate pain and unable to walk or bear weight on the affected leg. He has been placed on pain relief, IV antibiotics, and fluids, and is awaiting immobilization with a plaster cast (POP) and possible surgical intervention. Due to financial constraints, he is seeking support for his treatment. On presentation at our hospital, he was evaluated and had an X-ray done which revealed fracture of the Right Femur. He requires surgical interventional to heal the fractures.

Abubakar Mohammed Isa, a 19-year-old male, was admitted on 10th July 2025 to the Orthopedic Unit in general hospital nguru with a left femoral shaft fracture following a motorcycle accident. He had initially sought care from a traditional bone setter, which delayed proper treatment. Upon admission, he was stabilized with intravenous fluids, analgesics, and antibiotics. A Plaster of Paris (POP) cast was applied for immobilization, and conservative management was continued under close observation. His condition improved gradually with pain relief and limb stability. Thanks to the timely intervention and financial support from Helpster Charity, he was able to receive essential orthopedic care without delay. Abubakar was monitored for several days and showed satisfactory clinical progress. He was subsequently discharged on 24th July 2025 with follow-up advice and physiotherapy recommendations. We sincerely thank Helpster Charity for their generous support, which made this treatment possible and ensured a positive recovery outcome for the patient.

With proper treatment, including immobilization and possibly surgery, Abubakar has a good chance of full recovery and regaining the ability to walk normally. However, if left untreated, the fracture could lead to permanent disability, chronic pain, limb deformity, and loss of mobility, severely impacting his quality of life and future potential.
