Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Malaria in individuals with sickle cell disease (SCD) can lead to severe complications and even death, despite the fact that sickle cell trait (SCT) may offer some protection against malaria. While SCT carriers may experience milder malaria symptoms, SCD patients in malaria-endemic regions are at increased risk of severe malaria, anemia, and vaso-occlusive crises, requiring prompt diagnosis and treatment.

Background
Wisdom is a lively and optimistic 10-year-old boy who aspires to become an engineer one day. He enjoys drawing and crafting clay models of buildings. He lives with his father and four siblings. His father, who works as a farmer, is the family's sole breadwinner, earning roughly 1,500 shillings a month based on the sale of his farm produce. Wisdom has been living with sickle cell disease. He was brought to the hospital after experiencing joint pain, vomiting, fever, and general body weakness for three consecutive days.
Medical history
Wisdom is a known Sickler and was diagnosed with severe malaria he was admitted and was given antibiotics ,sickle cell drugs and rehydrating fluids. As he started feeling better, he was discharged from the hospital to continue his treatment at home and also advised to continue with outpatient sickle cell clinic. During the check-up call, the Helpster volunteer heard from Wisdoms mother is free from pain and back to his normal life. Wisdom mother says “I can’t describe just how worried I was when my son got sick, and wasn’t getting better as I was treating him with drugs from near by chemists. I would like to appreciate Helpster Charity on their support. Thank you.”
Prognosis
Wisdom was given inpatient treatment and if he was left untreated malaria could have lead to severe complications and even death. While SCD can offer some protection against certain malaria symptoms, it also increases the risk of severe anemia and vaso-occlusive crises, especially in young children. Malaria-related mortality in SCD patients can be higher than in those with other illnesses.
