Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Stephanie is an 11-year-old girl who lives in a children’s home and is an orphan. She enjoys watching wrestling and dancing. The home relies entirely on the support of well-wishers. Stephanie aspires to become a lecturer in the future. She was abandoned by the roadside as an infant and was rescued by a kind stranger who reported the incident to the police. She was later placed in the children’s home. About three days before visiting the hospital, Stephanie developed rashes on her hands. As the itching worsened and the rashes began to spread to other parts of her body, the children home’s administration decided to seek medical attention. She was treated appropriately at the hospital and has now fully recovered and returned to school to continue her education. It is important to treat scabies promptly if one child in a children’s home is affected because scabies is highly contagious and can spread rapidly through close contact, shared bedding, and clothing. Untreated cases can lead to severe itching, skin infections, and discomfort, affecting the overall wellbeing of the children. Early treatment helps to stop transmission, protect other children and caregivers, and maintain a healthy living environment in the home.

Medical history

Stephanie was examined by the doctor and received appropriate treatment and medication. She has now fully recovered and resumed her studies. No photos showing the scabies lesions were uploaded, as the affected areas were sensitive and taking such photos would have compromised her privacy. During our visit to the children’s home, Stephanie was active, cheerful, and expressed her gratitude to us and Helpster Charity for the support, saying she is now completely well.

Prognosis

Generally excellent, the child was given appropriate treatment. While itching may persist for a couple of weeks after treatment, the itching and rashes are likely to resolve completely. The caretakers were counseled on hygiene
