Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About 1.ari 2. hemorrhoid grade ii 2. malaria
Hajara was diagnosed with multiple health conditions. She had an acute respiratory infection (ARI), which caused persistent cough, nasal congestion, fever, and general body weakness. She also had a hemorrhoid (Grade II), a condition where swollen blood vessels in the anal region protrude during bowel movements, causing pain and discomfort. In addition, she was found to have malaria, an infection caused by Plasmodium parasites transmitted through mosquito bites, leading to high fever, chills, body aches, and fatigue. The combination of these illnesses left her severely unwell and in urgent need of medical care.

Background
Hajara is a 5 year old girl living with her parents and siblings in a very poorly one bedroom house in gwange area of Maiduguri. Space is limited, and resources are scarce, so she often goes without toys or treats that other children might have. Hajara began to experience severe discomfort, complaining of pain and protrusion in the anal region while defecating, which caused her to cry and strain with every bowel movement. She also developed high fever and body aches, leaving her weak, restless, and unable to play or eat properly. As her condition worsened rapidly, her parents, deeply worried and unable to manage her illness at home, rushed her to Nakowa to seek urgent medical care provided by Helpster Charity. By the time she arrived, she was very sick and in need of immediate attention. On presentation at our hospital and after further evaluation, she was diagnosed with ARI, Malaria, enteric fever and grade II hemorrhoid.
Medical history
Hajara was promptly started on treatment at Nakowa to address her multiple health conditions. She received Amoxicillin syrup to treat her acute respiratory infection, Lonart syrup and Flagyl syrup for malaria and gastrointestinal support, and paracetamol to control her fever and relieve body aches. Loratadine syrup was given to ease any allergic or respiratory irritation, while Vitamin C and Vitamin B Complex supported her immunity and overall recovery. In addition to medications, Hajara underwent necessary laboratory investigations, including malaria parasite (MP) testing, Widal test, and packed cell volume (PCV), to monitor her condition and guide treatment. Over the days, her fever subsided, her cough and nasal congestion improved, and she regained strength and appetite. The discomfort from her hemorrhoid lessened with supportive care, allowing her to be more comfortable and active. With consistent follow-up and proper care, Hajara gradually recovered fully, returning to her usual playful self. Thanks to the timely intervention and support of Helpster Charity, she was restored to good health, bringing relief and joy to her family.
Prognosis
Hajara's prognosis is good with prompt and adequate management. Acute respiratory infections generally resolve fully with antibiotics and supportive care, while Grade II hemorrhoids in children respond well to medical therapy and lifestyle adjustments. Malaria, when treated promptly, typically resolves without complications. Delayed or inadequate treatment, however, may result in worsening infection, severe anemia, or increased hemorrhoid discomfort.
