Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About infections

Febrile seizures, also known as febrile convulsions, are seizures that occur in children (usually between 6 months and 5 years) when they have a high fever, often due to an infection. Severe malaria, a life-threatening complication of malaria infection, is characterized by organ dysfunction, including impaired consciousness, seizures, circulatory collapse, and respiratory distress. Other key features include severe anemia, metabolic acidosis, acute kidney injury, and abnormal bleeding or disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). Early and aggressive treatment is crucial for survival Scabies is a contagious skin infestation caused by microscopic mites that burrow into the skin and lay eggs, leading to intense itching and a characteristic rash

Along siaya- Rangala road

Background

Denzel is his mother’s only child. His father abandoned them while his mother was still pregnant. He lives with his mother, grandparents, and a cousin in a small two-room mud house. His mother is unemployed and relies entirely on her parents, who are peasant farmers, to support the family. According to his mother, Denzel was taking a nap when he suddenly began convulsing and frothing at the mouth. Upon picking him up, she realized he had a very high fever. She immediately rushed him to the nearest health center, where he was stabilized before being referred to Siaya County Referral Hospital for further care.

Medical history

Denzel was brought to the hospital with a history of vomiting and had had an episode of convulsion. He was diagnosed with severe malaria and scabies. He was admitted for four days, during which he received drugs like IV artesunate, paracetamol, IV Xpen, and benzyl benzoate, among other drugs. He was also transfused blood. Denzl responded well to treatment and was eventually discharged on orals like paracetamol. AL, Ranferon, benzyl benzoate, and albendazole. A call to Denzel's mother revealed that Denzel was okay was very playful you wouldn't he was recently sick, therefore he has gone back to his normal life.

Prognosis

Severe malaria can progress to a fatal outcome rapidly, so its treatment should be initiated as soon as possible. Patients with severe malaria, regardless of infecting species, should be treated with intravenous (IV) artesunate The prognosis for scabies is generally excellent with appropriate treatment. Most cases can be cured, and individuals can return to school or work shortly after starting treatment. While itching may persist for a few weeks after the mites are eliminated, it typically resolves with time and proper management
