Congenital cataract in both eyes: Congenital cataracts are a serious condition where the lens of the eye is cloudy at birth, similar to looking through frosted glass. When this affects both eyes, it significantly impairs a baby's ability to see and can hinder the crucial development of the visual pathways between the eyes and the brain. Without clear images being sent to the brain, normal sight cannot develop. This is a critical concern, as a baby's brain learns to see most rapidly in the first few months of life, and any obstruction can lead to permanent and irreversible vision loss.

Background
Ayesha Akter is an adorable 8-month-old baby girl with a gentle smile who loves playing with her soft toys at her grandmother’s home in rural Matlab North, Chandpur. She is the youngest of three children in a family that survives on her father’s small salary of just BDT 8,000 a month as an office peon, barely enough to cover food and basic needs. Ayesha has been diagnosed with congenital cataracts in both eyes, leaving her with severely limited vision. Without urgent surgery, she risks permanent blindness, robbing her of the chance to see her parents, siblings, and the colorful world around her. Her family is desperately seeking help to give their little girl the gift of sight and a future full of possibilities.
Medical history
Ayesha Akhter, a 1-year-old baby girl, was diagnosed with a cataract in her left eye, which was significantly affecting her ability to see and respond to her surroundings. Early treatment was crucial to prevent permanent vision impairment and support her visual development. Under the skilled care of Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Sk, Chief Consultant of the Hospital, Ayesha underwent cataract surgery under anesthesia. The operation was performed successfully and without complications. Her recovery process went smoothly, and her visual acuity has improved remarkably. Ayesha now appears more responsive and active, showing visible signs of comfort and happiness. Her family is delighted to see her recognize faces and objects clearly again. Sincere thanks to Helpster Charity and the Helpster Heroes for their compassionate support in helping her regain her vision and a bright future ahead.
Prognosis
For Ayesha Akter it is recommended 4 times surgery (2 Time Irrigation to remove opaque Lens and 2 Time Surgery to Implement Secondary IOL under GA in both eyes). She diagnosed with Congenital Cataract at her age of 8 Months. It is recommended immediately to remove the Opaque Lenses (Cataract) under GA and Later on Within 1 Year or having GA fitness Secondary IOL will be implanted in both eyes one by one)
