When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Sickle Cell Aenemia is one of a group of inherited disorders. It affects the shape of red blood cells, which carry oxygen to all parts of the body. Haemoglobin S is an abnormal form of haemoglobin that causes the red cells to become rigid, and sickle shaped.

Background
Every parent wishes health on their offsprings. When Catherine was born in Seme, a village along the shores of Lake Victoria, her parents wished only health on their baby. As fate may have it, Catherine started sickling at the age of 6 months. Tests were conducted and the child turned out to be suffering from sickle cell anaemia. Since then, the child have been a frequent client to hospitals for blood transfusion and medication. Nearly all wages her parents get goes to her treatment costs leaving the family with barely enough money to cater for her other 3 siblings' basic needs. If Helpster can help with treatment cost of this girl, she will never miss clinic appointments due to lack of money, her schooling will not be disrupted and her health will greatly improve. Her parents will be happy too.
Medical history
Catherine has got the medication for the sickle sell anemia and is stable right now. This is a chronical disease so she will need another kit in January 2023
Prognosis
Lack of oxygen-rich blood can damage nerves and organs, including kidneys, liver and spleen, and can be fatal. Monthly medication can save the child
