Background
Amina Babagana Donoma is a creative and imaginative 7-year-old who loves drawing, reading picture books, and playing pretend doctor with her toys. Inspired by her hospital experience, she dreams of becoming a doctor to help others. Amina Babagana Donoma developed a persistent cough, high fever, difficulty breathing, and weakness over five days. She was diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia affecting her right lung. After receiving antibiotics, oxygen, and supportive care at General Hospital Nguru, she showed significant improvement by the fifth day of admission. On presentation at the hospital, Amina was evaluated and diagnosed with Community Acquired Pneumonia.
Medical history
Amina Babagana Donoma, a 7-year-old female diagnosed with Community-Acquired Pneumonia, was admitted on 10th July 2025 in general hospital nguru She was treated with IV Ceftriaxone for 7 days, oral Azithromycin for 5 days, Paracetamol for fever, and received oxygen therapy as needed. Supportive care included fluids, nutrition, and chest physiotherapy. By day 5 of admission, she showed marked clinical improvement, indicating a positive response to treatment. Outcome: Good recovery with improvement in symptoms and discharged on 15th July 2025.special thanks to helpster charity for the medical support.
Prognosis
The doctor’s prognosis is positive, expecting full recovery with proper treatment. However, if left untreated, Amina’s pneumonia could lead to serious complications like respiratory failure or even death.
