Favour is 16years old, she attends Government Secondary School Narayi and she is in SS2. She lives with her parents and 3 siblings. The father is a Ttyler and does interlock while the mother used to cook in a restaurant but because the salary was small she had to stop the job. On Tuesday 22nd July 2025, she suddenly started complaining of stomach pain so the mother went and bought drugs for pain, her mother then vooled and gave her to eat after eating she went to her bed and slept off. The next day she couldn't get up from the bed, she couldn't eat, nor say a word, couldn't walk and laying down unconscious. So she was told about Helpster. Upon presentation at our hospital and after investigations, she was diagnosed with Severe Malaria which was complicated by acute kidney injury and severe Anemia

Favour chukwudi is a 16 year old girl who was brought in with recurrent seizures, fever and loss of consciousness, she was evaluated as a case of cerebral malaria complicated by severe anemia and Acute kidney injury secondary to severe dehydration, she had investigations including malaria parasite, Urea, electrolytes and creatinine, full blood count and differentials. she was commenced on antimalarias (IV artesunate), antibiotics (IV sulbactam and IV flagyl) and also had 2 units of blood transfused. Thanks to helpster charity foundation she made significant recovery as she regained her consciousness and was also able to pass urine optimally.

It’s a case of severe malaria and sepsis Gastrointestinal focus, complicated by severe anemia severe dehydration and acute kidney injury, she will require few days admission, parenteral antimalaria (artesunate), a combination of antibiotics(ceftriaxone, flagyl among others), and other supportive medications, she will also benefit from blood transfusion of 2 units. With these prompt interventions the child will make optimal recovery and resume her normal activities
