Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About infections
Malaria is caused by plasmodium falciparum and is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes, it can be life threatening in severe conditions and an emergency for hospitalisation because of anemia and even cerebral malaria if there will be delayed interventions and more fatal in gastroenteritis that can cause dehydration and electrolytes imbalance. Gastroenteritis with severe dehydration is an acute inflammation of the stomach and intestines, usually caused by infection, that leads to excessive fluid and electrolyte loss, resulting in life-threatening dehydration characterized by signs such as sunken eyes, very dry mouth, lethargy, weak pulse, and inability to drink.

Background
Chelangat, the eldest of eight children, lives with her parents in a three-room mud house with rusted iron sheets, located in a swampy village. The family relies on firewood for cooking and lighting, and fetches water from a nearby stream for drinking and cooking. Her father, who works as a mason at construction sites earning about 3000 KES per day, struggles to provide for the family’s basic needs, which often leaves them unable to afford two meals a day or meet other essentials. Two days ago, Betty began experiencing severe headache, chills, joint pain, vomiting, and general body weakness. Through the awareness efforts of Helpster Charity and community health promoters at Mt. Elgon Sub-County Hospital, she was able to seek care at the facility. She was examined, diagnosed with severe malaria and gastroenteritis, and subsequently admitted for treatment.
Medical history
Chelangat presented to the facility feeling unwell with chills, headache, vomiting, joint pain, and general body weakness. After investigations, she was diagnosed with severe malaria and gastroenteritis and was admitted for treatment and supportive care. She was later discharged in stable condition. A follow-up phone call confirmed that she is doing well.
Prognosis
Prognosis is good. Betty was promptly treated. These combinations of severe malaria and gastroenteritis was treated and managed earlier otherwise could have been resulted to some complications
