Adamu Muhammed Auwal is a bright and curious 12-year-old boy from Sabon Gari, Nguru. Adamu dreams of becoming a doctor one day, inspired by the care he received during his hospital visit. He hopes to help children like himself in the future, especially those from rural communities. Despite his recent illness, his energy and determination remain strong, fueled by a deep love for learning and a desire to make a difference. developed persistent itching that began about a week before he was brought to General Hospital Nguru. The itching worsened at night and was accompanied by rashes and scratch marks, mainly on his trunk, limbs, and between his fingers. Upon presentation at our hospital it was diagnosed he had scabies (mange), a skin infection caused by tiny mites, and other members of his household had similar symptoms.

Adamu Muhammed Auwal, a 12-year-old boy from Sabon Gari, Nguru, was admitted to General Hospital Nguru on 4th August 2025 with a confirmed diagnosis of Scabies (Mange). He was treated with topical Permethrin 5% cream, oral antihistamines, and emollients to relieve itching and promote skin healing. His household members were also evaluated and treated to prevent reinfestation. After showing significant improvement within 72 hours, Adamu was discharged in stable condition on 7th August 2025. The doctor’s prognosis is positive with proper treatment, Adamu is expected to make a full recovery without long-term effects. However, if left untreated, the scabies could worsen, lead to severe skin damage, secondary infections, and continue spreading to others in the household.
