Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About blood

Malaria is a mosquito-borne infectious disease caused by Plasmodium parasites. It is characterized by symptoms like fever, fatigue, vomiting, and headaches, and can be severe or even fatal in some cases. Malaria is preventable and treatable, with artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT) being the most effective treatment, particularly for Plasmodium falciparum malaria. Tonsillitis is an inflammation of the tonsils, typically caused by a viral or bacterial infection. The tonsils, located at the back of the throat, are part of the immune system, helping to fight off infections

Background

Stacy is a 3-year-old girl, the firstborn in her family. She is a polite and playful child who enjoys running around. She has not yet started school and lives with her single mother, near the local center. She had been experiencing intermittent fevers for three days. Her mother initially sought help at a nearby clinic, but the treatment given did not improve her condition. She was later brought to the hospital by a Community Health Provider, who had learned about Helpster Charity Organization during a meeting that had been convened by the area location's administrative officer. At the time of admission, Stacy presented with vomiting, fever, throat pain, and restlessness. She was examined, had laboratory investigations done.

Medical history

Stacy was admitted with malaria and tonsillitis. She was initially irritable but responded well to prompt treatment. After two days of care, her condition improved significantly, and she was discharged on the third day. She can now feed comfortably, play with other children, and has returned to her normal, active routine, fully recovered.

Prognosis

Stacy was diagnosed with malaria and tonsillitis. Her prognosis is good since she was promptly evaluated, laboratory tests guided her treatment, and medication was started without delay. With adherence to the prescribed antimalarial and antibiotic therapy, she is expected to make a full recovery.
