A fractured nasal bone, also known as a broken nose, is a crack or break in the bone of the nose, most commonly the bone at the bridge of the nose. It is a common injury, especially from sports, fights, falls, or accidents. Symptoms include pain, swelling, bruising, and sometimes a change in the nose's shape. It causes some complications like. 1. Cosmetic deformities: If not treated properly, a fractured nose can heal with a visible deformity. 2. Breathing difficulties: Nasal obstruction can persist if the fracture is not addressed. 3. Septal hematoma: This can lead to cartilage damage and potential saddle nose deformity. 4. Infection: Damage to the skull base can allow bacteria to enter the brain and cause meningitis.

Background
Rakibul Islam, a 16-year-old Madrasha student, had his dreams of a brighter future shadowed by a painful and debilitating nose injury he sustained two years ago. His family's dire financial situation meant they couldn't afford a doctor visit, forcing him to endure constant pain and nasal obstruction. Now, after a diagnosis of a fractured nasal bone, doctors have advised an urgent surgery called Closed Reduction, a procedure the family simply cannot afford. Without the operation, Rakibul's nose will heal with a permanent cosmetic deformity and his breathing difficulties will worsen, potentially jeopardizing his education and future job prospects, leaving him to suffer a lifelong consequence of their poverty.
Medical history
Rakibul Islam was admitted to the hospital on September 4, 2025, with a nasal bone fracture. On the same day, the doctor performed a closed reduction. After two days of treatment, he was discharged on September 6, 2025, in good health. His father and mother came to the hospital to receive him. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster, Jumuna Clinic, and Bablu Abdullah for their treatment and support. Prognosis
Rakibul Islam, a 16-year-old, has been diagnosed with a fractured nasal bone following an accident two years ago, which is the cause of his persistent pain and nasal obstruction. The doctor's prognosis is that this condition, if left untreated, could lead to serious and permanent complications. These risks include a lasting cosmetic deformity, a septal hematoma, or even a saddle nose deformity due to cartilage damage. To prevent these outcomes and restore proper nasal function, the doctor has decided to perform an urgent surgical procedure called Closed Reduction with General Anesthesia (G/A). This surgery is critical to correct the fracture and ensure Rakibul can breathe properly, thereby improving his quality of life and preventing long-term health issues.
