About malaria + enteric fever
Malaria is mosquito-borne parasitic infection caused by Plasmodium species. It presents with fever, chills, sweating, headache, and anemia. Transmission is high in tropical and subtropical regions with poor mosquito control. Enteric fever is a bacterial infection caused by Salmonella typhi/paratyphi, spread through contaminated food and water. Symptoms include prolonged fever, abdominal discomfort, headache, and sometimes skin rashes (rose spots). It thrives in areas with poor sanitation and unsafe drinking water.

Background
Halima is 5 years old. She is staying with her parents. The father is a farmer and the mother is a petty trader in their small community. She is currently in a government primary school and is doing well in a her academics. She started having fever which made her skip going to school some days ago, she complains of abdominal pains and vomits. The parents were able to get some drugs from the chemist, there was no improvement on the condition. The news about Helpster Charity reached them through a beneficiary and they contacted Albishir Hospital for proper evaluation under Helpster Charity program. She was diagosed of Malaria and Enteric fever
Medical history
Halima a 5 years old diagnosed with malaria and enteric fever has made a good recovery after receiving the appropriate treatment. Fever, chills, and abdominal symptoms have resolved, and clinical assessment shows stable vital signs with improved overall condition. The patient is eating well, regaining energy, and fit for discharge with instructions for follow-up care.
Prognosis
Malaria Severe malaria can cause complications like cerebral malaria, anemia, or organ failure. Prevention and prompt care greatly reduce mortality. Enteric fever Good prognosis with early antibiotic therapy and supportive care. Delay in treatment may lead to serious complications such as intestinal perforation or bleeding. Improved sanitation and vaccination lower recurrence and spread.
