Ashely was diagnosed with unspecified upper tract infection and malaria. Malaria is a potentially life-threatening infectious disease caused by parasites transmitted to humans through the bite of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes. Once inside the human body, the parasites multiply in the liver and then infect red blood cells, causing recurrent cycles of symptoms, including high fever, chills, fatigue, and, in severe cases, organ damage or failure.This stage of the disease is defined by the evidence of vital organ dysfunction.

Background
Ashley is a hard working girl who likes to go to school and aims to be one of the top students in her class. She also likes helping her mother with house chores when she isn't in school and done with homework. She would like to be a nurse when she grows up. Ashley was well until a few days ago she begun complaining about headache, fever, abdominal pain and vomiting.
Medical history
Ashley arrived at the hospital feeling very unwell, with symptoms including headache, fever, abdominal pain, and vomiting. She appeared dehydrated, so she was given fluids to rehydrate her. Tests were conducted in the laboratory to determine the cause of her illness. Upon diagnosis of malaria, she received treatment and showed rapid improvement in her condition.
Prognosis
Malaria should be treated promptly with the use of antimalarial drugs. If left untreated, it can lead to severe complications and even death. It can result in organ failure, severe anemia, neurological issues, and in some cases, prove fatal, making early diagnosis and treatment crucial for preventing these life-threatening consequences.
