Tahir I., 3

Tahir Idris is a bright 3 year old boy living with his parents and three siblings in a small one-bedroom apartment in the Gwange area. Life is modest for his family, but his siblings lovingly look after him whenever their mother is away at the local market where she runs a small trading business. Tahir Idris developed persistent fever, body pain, and weakness that left him unable to play as usual. His condition worsened when he started coughing with catarrh, making it difficult for him to rest at night. Soon after, he complained of abdominal pain and began passing loose stools frequently, which drained his strength further. These troubling symptoms worried his family, and they sought medical attention to help him recover. Upon presentation at our hospital, and after further evaluation, he was diagnosed with Malaria+ Enteric fever ,ARTI ,Colitis .

Tahir was brought to the hospital very ill and diagnosed with Malaria with Enteric fever, ARTI, and Colitis. He was weak, running a high fever, coughing, and struggling with abdominal pain and diarrhea. The doctors immediately started treatment with antimalarials, antibiotics, fluids, and supportive care. Thankfully, Tahir responded quickly, and within a short time his fever subsided, his strength returned, and his breathing and digestion improved. Today, Tahir is fully recovered, active, and healthy again. Special appreciation goes to Helpster Charity for covering his medical bills and making his treatment and recovery possible.

Tahir's prognosis is good with timely diagnosis and appropriate management of malaria, enteric fever, ARTI, and colitis. With antimalarials, antibiotics, hydration, and supportive care, most patients make a full recovery. However, delayed or inadequate treatment may lead to severe anemia, intestinal perforation, respiratory distress, or chronic bowel complications.
