Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About pathology

An inguinal hernia is a condition in which a portion of the intestine or abdominal tissue protrudes through a weakened or torn area in the lower abdominal wall, typically in the groin area. A person with an inguinal hernia typically experiences a noticeable bulge or lump in the groin area. This bulge can be painful or uncomfortable, especially when lifting. Some individuals might also feel aching or burning sensations around the hernia. In certain cases, the hernia can lead to symptoms like groin pain, a feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen, and discomfort.

Background

Onaara is the last of the family of 5 both parents are not together anymore, and her father has not been there for the family, her mother helped neighbors to sweep and washing clothes to feed the family her income per 10000. Onaara is a good girl, she loves reading and wishes to a teacher. She presented to our hospital with a right inguinal swelling, the swelling was noticed when she was 3years old, the swelling has been increasing in size since then. There is associated severe pain and difficulty to do her normal. Yesterday she had incarceration due to increased inflammation, tightness of the space. She was given some medications to reduce the inflammation and relieve the tightness.

Medical history

Onaara was successfully operated on for an inguinal hernia on August 26th and was discharged home on September 3rd. She now feels much better, reads, and plays with her friends without any swelling, discomfort, or pain.

Prognosis

If left untreated, inguinal hernias can lead to complications such as bowel obstruction, strangulation (where blood supply to the herniated tissue is cut off), and significant pain or discomfort. Surgery is the most common treatment for inguinal hernias to repair the weakened area and prevent these potential complications.
