Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About gynecology
A preterm baby is a baby born alive before 37 completed weeks of pregnancy (gestation). Neonatal jaundice, a common condition in newborns, is characterized by a yellowish discoloration of the skin and whites of the eyes (sclera) due to elevated bilirubin levels in the blood. This bilirubin buildup, known as hyperbilirubinemia, occurs because the newborn's liver may not be fully developed enough to process and remove bilirubin effectively. While often mild and resolving on its own (physiological jaundice), more severe cases (pathological jaundice) require medical attention. Sepsis is a life-threatening medical emergency where the body's immune response to an infection causes it to damage its own tissues and organs, potentially leading to organ failure and death.

Background
Baby Lydia is the first and only child of a teenage mother. She lives with her mother and grandmother in a modest two-room mud house. Since her mother is still a teenager and not employed, both of them rely entirely on the grandmother, who works as a casual laborer, for their upkeep. They first learned about Helpster during a hospital visit. The mother recalls that she began feeling unwell, often experiencing fatigue and excessive sleepiness. Having some knowledge of pregnancy symptoms, she decided to visit a nearby health facility where a test confirmed she was pregnant. She confided in her mother, who offered her counseling and encouraged her to start attending antenatal care (ANC) clinics. She managed to attend two ANC visits. However, just a day before her scheduled third ANC visit at seven months, she suddenly fell ill and was rushed to the hospital, where she gave birth prematurely to Baby Lydia.
Medical history
Baby Lydia was born before the usual 37 weeks of gestation, and as a result, she was also of low birth weightand also suffered from neonatal jaundice. This warranted admission to the NBU (newborn unit), where she was placed in an incubator and fed, administered antibiotics and monitored. She stayed in the NBU for two weeks, upon which she gained weight, from 1505 grams to 1605 grams, a significant improvement. Having gained weight and being able to breastfeed, she was discharged home. Ac call to the parents revealed she was growing and feeding as expected.
Prognosis
Baby Lydia was found to have a low birth weight of 1500g and neonatal sepsis. She was immediately admitted to the newborn unit where she was started on antibiotics. She responded well to the treatment, showing good tolerance to the medication. Her outlook is favorable, with a good chance of recovery.
