The patient is 37+ weeks pregnant with her second child and has a history of a previous cesarean section, which already complicates the delivery plan. The situation is critical due to the presence of meconium stained amniotic fluid , a dangerously fetal distress occuring that can cause fetal death any time.This combination of factors places both the mother and the baby in a precarious position, requiring immediate and careful medical intervention.

Background
Onima Rani, a 26-year-old housewife, lives with her husband Milon Sikdar, their little daughter Rai Kisori, and her elderly mother-in-law Minoti Rani in a tin made house. Milon works as a daily wage laborer, earning only 8,000 taka per month, which barely covers food, school, and household needs, leaving no money for medical expenses. Onima, who loves cooking and dreams of raising her children in good health, is now facing a dangerous complication in her second pregnancy—her baby is in severe distress due to meconium-stained amniotic fluid. Without an urgent caesarean section, both the unborn child’s life and Onima’s own health could be at grave risk. The family is deeply worried, as they cannot afford the life-saving treatment that stands between them and a devastating loss.
Medical history
After experiencing less fetal movement for 2 day over 37+weeks of her pregnancy , she arrived at our hospital at 5.0 pm in 08 August 2025, where doctors performed an ultrasound that revealed meconium stained amniotic fluid that means severe fetal distress is occurring , making vaginal delivery impossible. An emergency cesarean section was promptly arranged, and the procedure was successful, resulting in the birth of a beautiful male baby. Both the mother and the baby are safe and sound, with no complications arising from the surgery. We discharged the patient in 11 August 2025.The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Heroes and the hospital for their timely and effective care.
Prognosis
Given the patient's condition, the doctor's prognosis emphasizes the necessity of close monitoring and timely intervention to ensure a safe outcome. If fetal distress left untreated,that leads to brain damage, or even stillbirth. The doctor's treatment plan will likely involve careful fetal monitoring and a decision on the safest time and method of delivery, which, given the previous C-section, will likely be a planned cesarean section. By proceeding with a medically supervised delivery, the doctors can mitigate the risks associated with both the low amniotic fluid and the prior surgical history, leading to a much safer and healthier outcome for both the mother and the baby.
