About infections
Malaria is a potentially life-threatening infectious disease caused by parasites transmitted to humans through the bite of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes. Once inside the human body, the parasites multiply in the liver and then infect red blood cells, causing recurrent cycles of symptoms, including high fever, chills, fatigue, and, in severe cases, organ damage or failure.This stage of the disease is defined by the evidence of vital organ dysfunction.

Background
Benard enjoys playing football with his friends and often pretends that anything can be a ball, kicking objects around the house or while walking with his parents. Recently, he had to go to the hospital because he was not feeling well. He had a fever, was vomiting, and had a runny nose.
Medical history
Benard came to the hospital with a high body temperature, vomiting, diarrhea and body-weakness. He was given anti-malarial drugs and zinc, and responded well to the treatment.
Prognosis
Malaria should be treated promptly with the use of antimalarial drugs. If left untreated, it can lead to severe complications and even death. It can result in organ failure, severe anemia, neurological issues, and in some cases, prove fatal, making early diagnosis and treatment crucial for preventing these life-threatening consequences.
