Hassan I., 16

Hassan is 16 years old, He has 8 other siblings, he was born a twin and has other twin siblings. They're all living with their parents. Hassan is in a free government primary school, he wishes to become a politician where he will make everything free to the less privileged. The father does not have a job at the moment, the mother is doing her best in terms of doing a petty trading to provide for the family. They live in a 3 rooms apartment, during raining season, they use buckets to prevent water from dripping down from the roof, the environment is full of grasses and water logged roads. Hassan has been having fever for the past 2 days. Fever is more in the evening with associated joint pains, fatigue and loss of appetite. He could not attend school as a result the fever, though given paracetamol tabs, there is no positive outcome. A call came through from a family member and we invited them to WholeCare Hospital for him to be properly checked. He was diagnosed of Malaria thereafter drugs were prescribed accordingly.

Hassan a 16 y.o has been having fever for the past 2 days. Fever is more in the evening with associated joint pains, fatigue and loss of appetite. He was admitted and diagnosed with malaria. Some antimalarials and antibiotics as well as other supportive care were given. On recovery, he was discharged with some take home drugs. He remains thankful to Helpster Charity for the support.

Most patients recover completely with early diagnosis and prompt treatment using effective antimalarials. However, delayed or untreated cases—especially with Plasmodium falciparum—can lead to severe complications like cerebral malaria, organ failure, or death. Preventive measures, good healthcare access, and emerging vaccines continue to improve long-term outcomes. To Hassan, he has not been sleeping under a treated mosquito net, he was duly advised to start using one. As drugs were prescribed, Hassan is expected to have a good outcome in his recovery.
