Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About eyes
Cataract is a clouding of the lens inside the eye, which causes blurry vision and can make it difficult to see clearly. If not treated, cataracts can lead to complete blindness, making it impossible for a person to see anything. This can severely affect daily life, independence, and quality of life, and in some cases, blindness may become permanent if not treated in time.

Background
Md Hossain is an 11-year-old humble and hardworking boy who dreams of studying at a Hefz Madrasha and building a brighter future for his struggling family. His father, Abdul Mannan, is 65 and too weak to farm as before, while his elder brother Hasan works as a day laborer to earn a small income of around 8,000 BDT, just enough to feed the family. Because of their poverty, they cannot afford the costly surgery Hossain urgently needs to restore his eyesight. Without treatment, he risks losing his vision permanently, which would shatter his dream of education and leave him unable to enjoy even simple joys like playing football with his friends. For this poor family living in a small tin house, support for Hossain’s treatment means not only saving his sight but also protecting his future.
Medical history
Md Hossain, an 11-year-old boy, was diagnosed with a cataract in his right eye, which caused blurred vision and difficulty in reading and daily activities. The treatment was essential to restore his sight and prevent further deterioration of his vision. Under the expert supervision of Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Sk, Chief Consultant of the Hospital, Hossain underwent successful cataract surgery under anesthesia. The procedure was smooth and complication-free, and his recovery has been excellent. After surgery, his vision improved remarkably, and he can now see clearly and comfortably. Hossain is once again able to study, play, and enjoy his childhood without vision-related struggles. His family is overjoyed to see his confidence and happiness return. Sincere thanks to Helpster Charity and the Helpster Heroes for their generous support in helping him regain his sight and a brighter future.
Prognosis
According to Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Sheikh, Chief Consultant, and Dr. Md. Rashedur Rahman, Senior Consultant at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, Chandpur, Hossain urgently needs cataract surgery under general anesthesia, along with the implantation of an intraocular lens to restore sight in his right eye. The doctors are confident that with surgery, his vision can significantly improve, giving him the ability to read, study, and live a normal life. However, if left untreated, he will face progressive vision loss, making it impossible for him to continue his education and leaving him dependent on others for the rest of his life. The cost of treatment is around BDT 45,000, which the family cannot afford. With the support of Helpster Charity and generous donors, Hossain has the chance to regain his vision and secure a brighter future.
